The excess burst size (EBS) parameter specifies the excess burst size transmitted by the source while not complying with the CIR. If the transmitted burst is lower than the EBS value, the packets are marked as out-profile by the meter to indicate that the traffic is not complying with the CIR. If the packet burst is higher than EBS, packets marked as red are dropped.
The EBS parameter is used only when the meter mode is set to ‟trtcm2.”
