Platforms

Description

This command configures the nodes that will be CPM-IMM nodes in a virtual chassis (VC).

The slot number can be set to any number from 1 to 8 as long as it is not in use by another VC member node. The slot number identifies a specific node or card in the VC similar to the slot ID of a card in a chassis-based system, and is used in addressing service objects created during provisioning.

An arbitration process in the boot phase ensures that one of the CPM-capable nodes is the active CPM and the other is the standby CPM. Internally software will always assign CPM A as the active CPM-IMM node and CPM B as the standby CPM-IMM node. Ports on the logical IMM which is part of the CPM are referred to using the same format as IMM-only nodes (slot-id/1/port-id).

The MAC address must match the chassis MAC address of the node.

The no form of the command removes the node from the VC.
