SAR

Introduction

The 8-port Voice & Teleprotection (VT) Card was introduced in release 5.0.R4 to provide the 7705 SAR platform with enhanced capabilities for replacing aging equipment within the Strategic Industries (SI) market, including utility, transport, government and defense applications. The VT card supports two FXO and two FXS (Foreign eXchange Office / Foreign eXchange Subscriber) ports for analog voice (Release 5.0.R7), two G.703 co-directional ports (Release 5.0.R4), and two C37.94 optical teleprotection ports (Release 5.0.R5).

The goal of this configuration note is to provide the steps required to configure and verify ITU-T G.703 co-directional on the 7705 SAR platform.

Setup

Prerequisites:

- MDAs and network ports are configured.

- IGP/static routing/MPLS or GRE are configured.

- SDPs are configured (The transport protocol used for this setup is LDP).

Configuration

Configure the Voice and Teleprotection MDAs on both SAR8-128 and SAR8-130.
