The considerations described in Configuration and usage considerations for Flex-Algorithms apply to
OSPFv2 flex-algorithms.
The following configuration and usage considerations are specific to OSPFv2:
- OSPFv2 flex-algorithm is IPv4 only.
- Virtual links are not supported for OSPFv2 flexible algorithms.
- Leaking of prefix SIDs and flex-algorithm-aware SIDs is not supported between OSPFv2
instances.
- On the SR OS, OSPFv2 supports the advertisement of Administrative Groups (RFC 5305)
and can receive and use Extended Administrative Groups in MPLS Traffic Engineering
(RFC 7308) from third party devices.
- When enabled, OSPFv2 flex-algorithm is activated for all areas configured within the
OSPFv2 routing instance.
