Figure 1 shows an application where different circuits are aggregated in the VPLS-based network. The access side is represented by an explicit do1q encapsulated SAP. Because the VLAN ID is port specific, those connected to different ports may have the same VLAN. The aggregation side is aggregated on the same port; therefore, a unique VLAN ID is required.
