In the inter-AS case, the ASBRs use EBGP as shown in Figure 1.
The two ASBRs become peers via local interface. The generate-basic-fec-only command can be used on the LEAF or the ASBR to force SR OS to generate a basic opaque FEC when the actual ROOT is resolved via BGP. The opaque type behavior is on par with the intra-AS scenario as shown in Figure 1.

The generate-basic-fec-only command is supported on LEAF PE and ASBR nodes in case of inter-AS. The generate-basic-fec-only command only interoperates with inter-AS as option C and opaque type 7 with inner opaque type 1.
